Bothers Jason and Paul Watkins, natives of Yukon, Oklahoma, have been making music together since high school. After relocating to Nashville, the band formed a relationship with Grammy award nominated producer Brent Milligan and have since recorded multiple singles and three full length albums, Vapors, My Heart Is the Eastern Horizon, and You’ve Got The Fire. Clemency’s indie rock and pop sound has been described as “so incredibly infectious and luminous” and has received warm response for its clever use of lo-fi instrumentation. Their music has been featured in commercials for John Deere, Timberland, Sports Authority and Pendleton Whiskey, as well as television shows like MTV’s teen mom, CW’s Emily Owens, MD.
“We are a band of brothers. The songs we write are reflections of the life, love, hope and beauty we seek.”
This week we are so excited to offer you a FREE DOWNLOAD of Clemency’s new song “Let Me Hold You,” a song that was written in a season of witnessing dear friends experience terrible tragedy and agonizing loss. In those moments speaking with them as they went through unbelievable hardship, the only words that didn’t seem powerless were, “We love you.” Beyond that, the response that felt most appropriate was simply to mourn with them as they mourned and to cling to the hope that their baby girl, who they held as she slipped away from them, would soon be held in the everlasting arms of her Creator. And we trust that He is holding her parents too. If you like what you hear be sure to check out the rest of their music available now. Enjoy & Happy listening!
