Today, Matt Crocker celebrates the release of his first-ever solo debut album interlude. The 11-song alternative collection is now available on all music streaming platforms, along with a new performance video for his newest single “it all belongs to You.” Listen and watch HERE. The highly-anticipated interlude album has already generated significant cumulative streams of its first three singles “hallelujah,” “love me as i am” and “JESUS,” now surpassing 1.6 million digital streams to date since releasing over the last two months.
Crocker, the longstanding member and vocalist of Hillsong UNITED and Hillsong Worship teamed up with several of his United family creatives, including producers Michael Guy Chislett (Hillsong UNITED) and Aaron Hollinger (Hillsong Young & Free), in the making of interlude. He opens the record with “sleepless,” a track that features a collaboration with longtime friend Brooke Ligertwood of Hillsong Worship.
Joel Houston of Hillsong UNITED offers, “I often say; ‘if there was only one person I could write songs with for the rest of my life, Matty Crocker would be it’ — people have no idea how prolific and gifted he is, nor how pure his heart and spirit are––that’s what screams the loudest to me in everything he writes. The multi-platinum singer/songwriter also recently spoke with Jacob Priddy of the Christian Music Guys Podcast about the creation of his solo project. He explained the title concept of interlude by saying, “The interlude name is that in between space where this has been my life, and now what does the future look like.. and I guess we all find ourselves at some point or, maybe even multiple times in our life having to trust God.” He added, “I think about the disciples waiting on the Holy Spirit, and they wait in the Upper Room just praying and essentially doing life together and trusting God. And so for me, it was similar, I was like in my own Upper Room space where I was just trusting God and pressing into music as a way of connecing with God’s presence.”
