This week’s featured song story comes to us from Riley Clemmons. We’re excited to share with you the story behind her song “For The Good.”
“As a songwriter, I am always directly inspired by what I’m going through in life or what people I love are going through. One of the most special and personal songs I’ve ever put out, was inspired very heavily by these people and by something that we walked through together. As a family, we walked through a tough season of loss, hurt, betrayal and pain. It’s a hard thing to walk through. But through it all, we really held onto the promise that is Romans 8:28. It says that all things work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purposes.” – Riley Clemmons

“For The Good” Lyrics
Who can bend my burdens
And make them beautiful
Who can bring the healing To the hurt I hold
Who else could part the waters
When I’m needing a way
Though I’m walking through the valley
I’ll believe when You say
For the good, for the good
You work all things together
For the good, for the good
Your promise stands forever
You alone are my greatest hope
I trust You on the broken road
You work all things together like only You could
For the good
Of those who love You, those who love You
Lord Your ways are higher
You know Your plans for me
You give purpose and a future
Even when I can’t see
So I will pray through every heartache
I will cling to this faith
Though I’m walking through the valley
I’ll believe when You say
I know You’re working
I know You’re working
I believe
I believe
Good things are coming
Good things are coming
I believe
I believe
