This week’s featured song story comes to us from Kari Jobe, Cody Carnes and Elevation Worship. We’re excited to share with you the story behind their song “The Blessing.”
“I just remember in that moment thinking this is so powerful to just declare these things. It feels like one of those declaration songs. Someone even asked us how’s the church supposed to sing this? Cause it seems like you’re singing it over us. And I’m like well that’s straight out of scripture. That’s the heart of God. We need to see it as God singing this over us no matter who’s singing it.” – Kari Jobe
“We actually wrote a different song first. When we were done writing that song we were getting ready to demo it and this song literally just started blossoming kind of randomly, unexpectedly out of this moment of Pastor Steve seeing this number 6, the Aaronic blessing.” – Cody Carnes
