This week’s featured song story comes to us from Blanca. We’re excited to share with you the story behind her song “Shattered.”
Losing someone is something that you can never prepare for. You never see it really coming. Even if you feel like you’re prepared it feels like the floor underneath you gets swept right from under your feet when it happens. And that’s exactly what happened to me when I lost my mom in 2016 to cancer.Loss is different for everybody. Maybe you didn’t lose your mom, but maybe it’s a child or a job, maybe it’s just a place that you’re in that has been very difficult for you. I think through the song I wanted it to show you that God can use everything that you’ve gone through. That’s the strength, that’s how he uses your story to then help other people or he shows you this newfound strength that you didn’t even know you had. – Blanca

“Shattered” Lyrics
[Verse 1]
I have seen valleys, the lowest of lows
I have felt heartache that would not let go
I have been shaken, deep in my soul
I have been broken more than you know
[Pre-Chorus 1]
But here I am still standing
So believe me when I say
[Chorus]
If you shatter
Every piece of you that’s on the floor
He can restore
And after
You’ll be even stronger than before
He can restore
What’d shattered
[Verse 2]
Nothing is wasted, there’s always a plan
He has a purpose you may not understand
He’s never been closer if you just hold on
He’ll take you deeper, He’ll give you a song
[Pre-Chorus 2]
‘Cause here I am still standing
So believe me when I say
[Chorus]
If you shatter
Every piece of you that’s on the floor
He can restore
And after
You’ll be even stronger than before
He can restore
What’d shattered
[Bridge]
If I am still here standing
You can believe me when I say
That He is more than able to redeem Your every pain
[Chorus 2]
If you shatter
Every piece of you that’s on the floor
He can restore
And after
You’ll be even stronger than before
He can restore, oh
If you shatter
Every piece of you that’s on the floor
He can restore
And after
He will make you stronger than before
I know He’ll restore
What’d shattered
