Group 1 Crew released a new album on Monday called “Fearless.” Their hit single, “He Said” talks about turning to God’s word to find the Truth about who we are. Blanca and Manuel from Group 1 Crew have created a great page of videos to go along with their new album. Each video focuses on a different struggle and what God truly says about it. Visit the page, check out all of the videos and share them on your facebook and twitter! When you share, a Bible verse will automatically be added to your post as an encouragement to you and your friends.
I know that I sometimes have trouble believing what God says about who I am and trusting Him in my weakness. I love what Blanca and Manuel had to say about two of the things that I struggle with: Trust and Striving for Perfection.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7
No matter what stage of life we are in, it is hard to trust God. Whether we are in prosperity or hardship, there is always something that is fighting against our trust in God’s provision or purpose. What is that for you right now?
Blanca said, “That’s what we base our whole…faith in is trusting what we don’t see. In life, there’s gonna be times when we…might not see the whole picture but it’s our job to trust in the Lord even when it feels a little shaky.”
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 2 Corinthians 12:9
For all of you out there who are Type A perfectionists like me, this one is hard to conquer. We truly don’t have to be perfect because Christ IS perfect. But we try to be anyway…and we always come up short.
Manuel put it so well, “You can’t attain [perfection] without Christ being there. Now it’s ok to fall because I know I’m just being human, but it’s not ok to stay down. Those times when you’re at your lowest, trust that He’s at His highest.”
