Q&A With Justin Rizzo–worship leader at the International House of Prayer in Kansas City
What was the first album that you ever bought?
That was a long time ago! But if my memory is correct, I would probably have to say a Carmen album. I used to be a huge fan!
What was the last album that you bought?
Leeland Sound of Melodies..
What is the best concert you’ve ever been to (as a fan)?
Probably a Lifehouse concert way back in the day when I lived in Buffalo NY. I remember being so impressed with them as a band.
If you could only listen to one song on repeat for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?
Caleb Andrews song “Beautiful example.” Amazing song!
If you could perform with any artist–living or dead–who would it be and why?
Keith Green. His passion and reach for God was contagious, and I want to have more of that.
Who is your favorite person from the bible and why?
David. Main reason is because he never gave up. Through the good times and bad his one desire and goal was living before God’s eyes.
If you had to switch careers and couldn’t do anything music related, what would you be doing?
Managing a Tim Horton’s coffee shop. I worked at one in Buffalo, NY for four years before moving to Kansas City and loved it!
What was the last book you read?
“Day of War” by Cliff Graham.
What is your favorite movie of all time and why?
“It’s A Wonderful Life.” Jimmy Stewart is one of my favorite actors, and the message of that movie is powerful.
If you could have coffee with anyone in the world (living or dead) who would it be?
Paul the Apostle
If you could have any one super power, what would you chose?
What is the weirdest thing you’ve ever eaten?
A couple months ago I ate rabbit while on a trip in Kentucky. I didn’t really care for it.
If you could travel to any place in the world, where would you go?
What is the worst job you’ve ever had?
Trying to sell Slim Bag pool filters door to door in high school. I don’t think I sold any, and it was not fun!
Most embarrassing moment?
Was leading worship at an event in Cairo, Egypt and was attempting to sing in Arabic. I had done a lot of practicing, but for some reason they didn’t understand one word I said the whole time!
Biggest pet peeve?
