Thanksgiving is now only one day away, which means that it is officially time to prepare. Grocery stores will be packed with last minute shoppers fighting for turkeys, hams, and other must-have meal items. For some, it will be the first time that their family hosts the Thanksgiving dinner, and for others it is a standing tradition to have it at their home.
As college students, it is one of the first times that we have gotten to see our families during the semester. Because of this, Thanksgiving is an extremely special time. Our brains get the break they need, and our stomachs get the fill that they have desired since leaving home.
In honor of Thanksgiving tomorrow, we have enjoyed bringing you a new series: “What’s Cooking Wednesday.” (See last week’s post here.) This week, everyone at our office shared their favorite Thanksgiving food item. In response, we want to see what YOU like to eat for Thanksgiving. This week’s contest will be a little different. Use Twitter to tweet a picture of your thanksgiving meal and be sure to use the hashtag #freeccmthanksgiving in order to be entered to win 2 CDs of your choice from the artists listed below. Keep the CDs or stuff some stockings! Be sure to FOLLOW us on Twitter while you’re at it! You never know…that might even help your chances of winning!
Let’s just say that I wanted to enter this contest! I might say something like…
(P.S. That food isn’t really mine…Thanksgiving isn’t til tomorrow, OK? But it does make me hungry! 😉 )
We asked everyone here at the office what their favorite Thanksgiving food is, and here is what they said!
“Green bean casserole!! yum!” — Meredith
“My grandma makes the BEST homemade stuffing! Her secret is cutting up maple breakfast sausage and mixing it in with everything else. My goodness, I’m getting hungry just typing this…” — Kai
“My favorite Thanksgiving food is leftover Thanksgiving food!!! I love it all! My friends always beg me to make my sweet potato casserole recipe…it’s got a few secret ingredients….but I like to try something new each year and let the Turkey be the traditional mainstay.” — Dana
“My favorite Thanksgiving day food is organic mashed potatoes mixed with stuffing! Simple gluten-free stuffing with NO meat (I know some people put sausage in theirs! Ek!), water chestnuts and celery – the 2 tastes complement each other so nicely! With a little pat of butter and you’re set! ” – Nicki
“Green bean casserole has always been my favorite :)” — Laura
“I love the corn pudding that my grandmothers make. Cornbread meets casserole for the perfect combination!” — Chandler
You can choose from the following artists for your contest win if you are selected!
Phillips, Craig & Dean
Shane & Shane
Happy Thanksgiving! And happy tweeting!
