      The song blessings touched me because so many of my blessings in life have come through rain drops, tears and storms we face hear in life. I am almost 20 years old, and last year my parents started to pursue seperation and a divorce, which has been a long, bitter and ongoing issue. It has been very painful, and when it came to head after I graduated fromhighschool, I started to bury myself in college, to do my very best. Now, I can look back and see the emotional pains I went through have only made me stronger in Christ, rather than me trying to rely on my own strength. Suicidal thoughts and depression plagued me that first year that that I was at college because of what was happening at home. I constantly had to turn to Christ, and sometimes begged Him to let me know what was going on inside of me. By the end of the year, I had a major breakthrough and started to actually trust Him in where He was leading me. I am now a sunday school teacher, a children’s drama instructor, doing public speaking and have spoken at a retreat. At the end of this year I will be going on my first mission trip to Hong Kong over Christmas in a step to pursue what the Lord has placed in my heart and soul. But I would never have known who I am had I not went through last year. It was the hardest thing I’ve ever experienced, a weakness I never knew could attack me. But being broken brought a new kind of strength, an innner peace. I know who I am and Whose I am. And that is all that matters. Last year was such a blessing, in disguise.

      This song has become the theme song for my life! Last year I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer, and it was a hard year. But through the struggle, I learned more about who God is. I wouldn’t have signed up for cancer, but I’m not sorry for the experience. I KNOW that God uses the raindrops, the storms, the darkest nights to make us more dependant on Him, to learn more about who He is, and to understand more and more that this life is not about ME – it’s about HIM! Thank you for sharing your personal struggles so openly and vulnerably.

      This song has touched me deeply. The first time I heard it, I stayed in my car to hear it to the end and hopefully catch the artist and name of it. The words are so fitting, and you have a beautiful voice. Every time I hear it, it gives me goosebumps. God is truly at work in the words of this song, because it reminds me every time that we are not alone in our struggles! To God be the glory!

      Im a college student so I don’t get to see my mother very often, and what time we do get to spend together is usually on the move. Whenever we’re in the car, she keeps the radio on low but when one of Laura Story’s songs comes on she always turns it up and sings along with the song. Seeing my mother praising God and singing along is a memory that will always be with me keeping me close to my mother, even when I am away at school.

      I’m amazed at how often we Christians miss the great truth that God is working through everything in our lives to teach us how to love Him more and how to love other better! Wonderful song!…as it truly represents our Wonderful Savior well!
      Laura Story, your thoughts are expressed so well with music as a backdrop.

      Rarely is there a songwriter who can put powerful lyrics to music that influences hundreds of people. It’s as if Laura Story knew what everybody was thinking, and wrote a song just for us. God amazes me at how He can gift someone with such an incredible talent, and I hope Mrs. Story continues to write songs like these for many years to come. Blessings in Christ!

      This is the first time I’ve heard this song “Blessings” I can tell that your walk with the Lord is deep in the moment as it pours out of these lyrcs. Silencing the mind and getting to a place where you can really hear his voice is so needed in these times. We are all so busy and plugged into this world that we miss all the millions of little tiny daily blessings. We need to be reminded daily that Proverbs 3:5-6 teachs us to “Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowlege him and he will make your paths straight.” We all need that special quite time to sit and be still and hear his gentle “blessings” pour over us. Thanks for sharing one of your quite times with us, i’m sure the Lord will shower you with his “Blessing’s” for sharing that one with us all. God Bless You…Keep running to the Cross ^j^

      I told my Sunday School class on a Sunday morning that I was singing a new song that I had heard on the radio. I said the track wasn’t even out yet but I had come across the piano music and was going to play it and sing. Before I could mention the name of the song I had two class members ask is it “Blessings”. Both of them said that they loved the song and it had ministered to them in a tremendous way. One member had lost her 9 year old son to leukemia and the other had a sister battling stage 4 breast cancer. They both agreed, a long with myself, that this song communicates a message from God of his mercy, healing and love.

      I first heard your song after my step father passed away. It was sent to the family during their time of grief and loss. My six year old loves to sing along when it is played and it causes me to pause when I hear it. Thank you for reminding us how close God is during our suffering and struggles.

      The song “Blessings” spoke to my spirit the first time I heard it. I think of our brothers and sisters around the world who are persecuted for their faith in Christ and I know they would tell us the greatest blessing they have is Jesus. The Lord does bless us in the hardest of all times, because He is faithful to never leave us or forsake us. Thank you for such a beautiful song and album.

It reminds me that even though I may be facing hard times and thinking I’ll never see the light of day to never give up hope because, like the chorus says, what if trials of this life are our blessings in disguise! Its quit amazing the major points this song emphasizes on that makes one stop and ponder upon the reality of life of what we normally embrace, when God wants us to know we NEED to realize for more than what we are looking tor. I learned to look beyond receiving but focus on obeying and depend on God to help me endure, and blessings is by endurance,, you cant be blessed if you cant endure, and if you cant endure, you’ll never be blessed, we don’t even deserve it anyway. Stop praying for God to take away the problems but pray that He may help you through the problems. Bless the Lord!

      Just being a recent graduate from college, I feel blessed to have made it so far and to not take anything for granted, especially friends that God has put in my life. Being a missionary kid and moving back to the U.S., I struggled to make friends and now God has blessed me with numerous friends. My mom always said that “You are blessed to be a blessing.” This statement has helped to stay humble and to keep a Job perspective because everything could be taken away at any time.

      We pray for Your mighty hand to ease our suffering.
      What if trials of this life, are Your mercies in disguise?
      We pray for wisdom, Your voice to hear.
      We cry in anger when we cannot feel You near.
      We doubt Your goodness, we doubt Your love.
      As if every promise from Your word is not enough.
      All, the while, You hear each desperate plea.
      And long that we’d have faith to believe.
      When friends betray us, when darkness seems to win;
      We know that pain reminds this heart, that this is not, this is not our home.
      It’s not our home
      What if my greatest disappointments, or the aching of this life;
      Is a revealing of greater thirst that a world can’t satisfy?
      And what if trials of this life, the rain, the storms, the hardest nights;
      Are Your mercies in disguise?

      Every line from the song I have posted here has a very specific meaning to me; some more than others. Yet still every one speaks to me and defines me in one way or another; whether its questions ive asked or things ive come to realize; every line speaks to me individually.

      At one point, I lost all my friends. Im 19…..a couple years ago, everyone walked out on me, for different reasons. I was left alone, confused, questioning everything. I was molested when I was 15 and when I spoke out about it, no one believed me. To this day most people dont believe me, But over the past year Ive learned just what it means for God’s blessings to be in disguise. Ive learned what it means to go through hard times and walk away from God, yet He still loves me and He still blesses me.

      This song has extraordinary meaning to me that I just cannot put into words.

God is using this song to help individuals, including me, see how even the things we can’t understand: the trials, the tests, and the problems we sometimes bring upon ourselves even, if given over to Jesus’ hands, can become things to make us grow. When an artist pens music that causes us to pause long enough to reflect, to hear the lyrics and compare our lives to the song, art happens. They have evoked a response. In Christian art that search involves the eternal. There is no higher form of art. Laura delivers with “Blessings”. Her art is elevated to ministry, she becomes a vessel and we each take a drink.

      I have been married for 28 yrs. We met in church but sadly we had a very turbulent marriage. He is abusive and won’t work. He got us evicted and my 16 yr. old daughter and I had to go home and forced to live apart, trying to survive. I am not bitter because it doesn’t matter what the circumstances in our lives, God remains the same. He can not be anything but good, LOVE, my life, strength and joy. He is my rock who is faithful and never changes. He is coming back for the same, a church and me personally, a daughter who will love Him no matter what! I’m with Laura when she says,” You can have all this world, just give me Jesus!”

      Thank you so much for your song Blessings. The words are so inspiring & real in so many situations we all face in our everyday lives. We have recently learned that our pastor has been called to minister in another place. If we follow our emotions, it would be so easy to become angry or allow the pain to hinder our service. Listening to your encouraging words has helped me personally come to grips with it all & has nurtured my faith that God will certainly not abandon us & all will be ok according to His plan, not ours. I am becoming able to rejoice in the favor & blessing that has been placed not only on his life but on the lives of those in our congregation. Thank you again for your ministry & I pray you continue to be blessed.
