My favourite Christmas song is Angels We Have Heard On High. I particularly like to sing the Latin refrain. Gloria in excelsis Deo!
I would have to say that O Come, O Come Emmanuel is also my favorite Christmas song. I love the longing in well-sung versions of the song, where the emotion and the thirst for God is clear and almost painful. It reminds me of how much we need God and how much Jesus has brought light and life to the world. O Come O Come Emmanuel is a reminder that before Jesus, they really were waiting for Emmanuel, the light of the world. We have Emmanuel, God with us, and we celebrate the birth of this ultimate intimacy at Christmastime.
My favorite Christmas song is O Holy Night, though not just any version. I once had a Family Christian stores exclusive cd with various artists and this particular version was sung by the group Harvest. Though I can no longer find the cd the search has been going on by both my wife and myself in the hopes of finding it once again.
My favorite has always been O Holy Night! Just hearing that song makes me stop and feel the true meaning of Christmas. “Fall on your knees. Oh, hear the angels singing.” I can just hear the music as I write.
My favorite Christmas song of all time is “O Holy Night.” This song is very powerful to me. Every time I hear this song I can just sing, and know that I am worshiping the awesome fact that God the Son came to Earth for us. It humbles me to “fall on knees” before Jesus the King of Kings.
Oh Holy Night is the best ever. Words can’t describe it.
my favorite Christmas song is Mary Did You Know? It’s an overwhelming thought…what she must have felt knowing there was nothing she could do for her son! Always a beautiful song!
I know it’s not one of the more popular Christmas songs, but I absolutely adore God Rest You Merry Gentlemen. I just have so many memories of playing it with my friends for the church Christmas program every year while we were teenagers. The sound of it reminds me of an old hymn and warms my heart.

My all-time favorite is “O Come, All Ye Faithful.” It has had special meaning to me since I was a child and I still love hearing it each holiday season. The words are so incredible!

If you push me for a favourite “O Holy Night” is top of my list. I was at a carol service in Canterbury Cathedral in England last year, and as the soloist sang this, with the orchestra playing, in one of the most significant cathedrals in Christianity, I found tears running down my face. “a thrill of hope, the weary world rejoices”, and the only response can be “fall on your knees” – a stunning carol of hope, and joy, mixed with a tune that touches the soul.
O Holy Night is so beautiful! There are so many versions and the lyrics are very powerful. Currently, the Glee Cast version is so amazing and breath taking!
My favorite Christmas song is also O Come, O Come, Emmanuel. My mother raised me on this song and the theology of it is astounding!
My favorite Christmas song is “The First Noel.” Depending on the artist, there’s such a pure & relaxed mood to it that makes me feel all nostalgic as if I were actually in the fields with the shepherds & stargazing with the wisemen.
I love o come o come Emmanuel. I soak up new versions likethe sun and can’t wait to hear Phil’s. I hope win.

oh come let us adore him is my favorite christmas song. we are created to worship and exalt the lord with our lives and with our mouths. you can not help but focus on the goodness and faithfulness of the lord when you sing that song.
My favorite Christmas song is “Carol of the Bells” and “Ill be Home for Christmas.” Phil Wickham rocks! He is my favorite singer!
That’s a tough one but I would have to say “Mary Did You Know”. Just because of the realness the song brings about our Saviour. Though 100% God also 100% man and that just amazes me. But there are many good ones.
I love God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen! The lyrics really speak to me and I love singing it around all of my family and friends. It always makes my Christmas extra special!
My favorite Christmas song of all time is “O Come, O Come Emmanuel.” I love the deep desire for Christ. It’s about the promise of and longing for the Messiah AND at the same time they lyrics refer to God WITH us. It’s this great picture of the “now and not yet” reality of our salvation.
My favorite song of christmas is “Mary Did u know” to me, this song means alot. Its sung in a way as if we were MAry. its liek the angel is tellin Mary of all teh things her baby boy is going to do. my favorit line is “the baby boy that you delivered will soon deliever u.” even though mary gave birth to Jesus, he till is king over her. When she “kissed her baby, she kissed the face of God” i realy really really love this song! so much meaning! AMEN to this song and all the others that everyone has listened before and after me…MERRY CHRISTMAS!

I would say one of my favorite Christmas songs would be Coventry Carol and Once in Royal Davids City. Merry Christmas to you and all your fans out there.
My favorite of all time would probably be “O Holy Night”, but Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You” is a little too infectious. 😉
My favorite Christmas song has to be “Go Tell It On the Mountain”. The song reminds us exactly what we are to be doing as Christians. We are to literally shout his name from “over the hills and everywhere”, proclaim that He is Lord. “Christmas” music gets overplayed so much and we sing it so much at this time of year, the meaning gets lost so easily and we forget what the words mean because we recite these songs from memory, but these songs are what remind us of the humble entrance that Jesus made and how we came to save us from our separation from God.
I love any song that praises the Lord! I can never get tired of singing for Him! i also just so happen to love Phils style of worship! i hope to get one of those 5 cds for christmas! ! God bless!
Every year at Church we have a “Hanging of the Green” Ceremony. Everybody comes on the first Sunday night in December and we sing and all the kid choirs sing the songs they’ve been working on all semester. At the end the youth “hangs” the garland, wreaths, and candles all around the sanctuary as the rest of the church holds a lit candle in their hand and we turn out the lights. We sing a couple of hymns a Capella. The alst hymn we sing is “Silent Night” and, to be honest, its the most beautiful thing Ive ever heard. Everybody is purely worshiping God and its so natural-No lights, no microphones, no guitars, Just worship. Its amazing.
this was actually a difficult choice. phil has become one of my all-time favorite vocalists because of the purity and simplicity of his voice. i’m stuck between the “prelude” and “have yourself a merry little christmas.” i love “prelude” because i LOVE simple arrangements, just keys and vocals truly make a song, even a short one, important. also, it has that feeling that it’s going to LEAD you into a musical journey, which is what phil is good for anyway!
“have yourself a merry little christmas” has always been my favorite christmas song because i’m ALWAYS running around doing something, worrying about something or someone and that song just reminds me to take it easy and enjoy what’s right in front of me. plus, phil’s voice makes the song soar; the arrangement and execution is so simple: amazing vocals and just a guitar. it’s a very intimate and heartfelt song. it reminds me of home, and as a family man, home is very important.
I have so many favorite Christmas songs! Here’s a few I like: Silent Night, The Little Drummer Boy, and Carol of the Bells. The reason why I like Silent Night and the Carol of the Bells? I had to play the music for my orchestra class in high school. I had funny doing so! The reason why I like The Little Drummer Boy? When I was little, I remember watching the movie with my dad, drinking hot chocolate, while enjoying the view of the beautifully decorated Christmas tree. Childhood memories like these is what I cherish the most in life. :]
I love the one where it goes “Chestnuts roasting o’er the fire”.. It’s either called Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas Day” or The Christmas Song 🙂

“Carol of the Bells” is mine. Have you heard the Family Force 5 version? or the August burns Red one is great too. Of course my favorite version is the classic I sang in choir growing up.
I love all the tradition Christmas Carols, but I think my all time favorite Christmas song is BarlowGirl’s Hallelujah (Light Has Come). Not only are their voices beyond beautiful singing it, the message and lyrics are beyond beautiful as well. If you haven’t heard it, it’s about how the birth of Jesus who sets us free. “Hallelujah light has come, A child is born to save us now, Jesus. Hallelujah light has come, A savior who will set us free, The promise for those who believe.” And I can’t help but crying everytime I hear this song. It’s just so beautiful!

Silent Night. It’s so peaceful. =) I love how at my church on our Christmas Eve service, everyone has a candle and we all light them and raise them up and sing accapella. It’s my favorite moment of the Christmas season.

My favorite is “O Holy Night”. The song just makes me smile every time I listen to it, especially the chorus. It always makes me appreciate just what happened the night when Christ was born.
My favorite Christmas song is O Come O Come Emmanuel as well. I love it for several reasons. It illustrates the tension that filled the hearts and minds of the Israelites under Roman oppression who were looking for a Messiah to come, but didn’t see one in sight. It’s a song of hope at his coming. It also ties in our hope in as well. Even though the Messiah has come we are awaiting his return. Our hearts cry for him to come again and make all wrongs right. Finally, it is a favorite because it’s focus is on the true meaning of Christmas. It is not about a beautiful baby, but instead the Son of God come in flesh to the world to die for the sins of humanity. We rejoice because the Savior came to give his life a ransom for many.
My favorite song has to be “O holy night” Especially the epic part “Fall on your knees! Hear the angel voices!” I love it.
I really love Little Drummer Boy. It is fun to play in a band but, beyond that, it has a beautiful message of simplicity. Wonderful.
My favorite is “Mary, Did You Know?” So many Christmas songs focus on the moment of Christ’s birth (O what a glorious moment!!), but this song looks at the whole of Jesus ministry and brings it all back to His birth!!

My favorite Christmas song is White Christmas. I love the idea of spending time with my family and celebrating the birth of Christ while it is snowing outside.
Although not as well known, my favorite is “Come Thou Long Expected Jesus”. I love this hymn because it does declare of the Messiah’s coming & victory over sin and death so that all of us may be victorious with Him.
My favorite is Little Drummer Boy. I’m a musician so I love the idea of being able to bring a song to Jesus as a gift! But my second favorite is “Grandma got Run Over by A Reindeer”!

My favorite Christmas song is “Little Drummer Boy” because the boy’s story is so touching and relatable. Though any gifts that people try to muster up to give to Almighty God will always be inadequate for such holiness, our King still delights in our striving efforts, even if all we have to give is the beat of a drum. Always inspires me and gives me hope.

Favourite song is “Oh come le us adore Him”. Because it’s not only a song of adoration but a song of invitation. I also love hearing it in the shops here in the Middle East because it is such a song of praise to Jesus and not another a generic Christmas song about santa clause,yet its heard everywhere.

I’m terrible at picking one fav, but O Holy Night, Mariah Carey version is definitely among the top. There are many reasons I would say this, 1. is there a better reason to sing?! “the night of our dear Savior’s birth” 2. it is just down right beautiful 3. i love to pretend to be Mariah Carey:) 4. it was one of two english songs I heard on public transportation in the middle of africa (the other one was All I want for Christmas is You, and no it wasn’t anywhere near christmas time, try July)
I would have to agree, “O Come O Come Emmanuel”, especially the version by Shane & Shane is my favorite of all time. Though it’s specifically only for “Advent purposes” it still falls into the larger category of Christmas.
It helps expose our need for a Savior, as we celebrate the time of Christ’s birth and await His second coming to redeem His people forever. Praise God that we can celebrate the death of Death by His death.

mine is Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas. sometimes, especially in todays day and age, Christmas can (and usually is) a stressful, hectic time. when I hear this song it reminds me of what Christmas is really about. It’s not about presents and parties, its about family. I think everyone Christian and non Christian can appreciate and understand that fact. It is also of course a day to remember the birth of Jesus our savior, and that should never be forgotten or left out. But this song takes all the worries and stress out of me the moment its played, it’s a good breath of fresh air in todays crazy world.
My favorite Christmas song is A Baby Changes Everything by Faith Hill. It really makes me stop to think how “the Baby” really did change not only the world, but my life and I am forever thankful for that.

I think that my favorite Christmas song is Come Thou Long Expected Jesus, because it encompasses the whole Gospel story, not just the incarnation. I also like it because you can sing it in a variety of styles, and it still works.

My favorite Christmas song of all time is “O Come, O Come Emmanuel.” I grew up Buddhist, never celebrating the true reason for Christmas and never hearing the Gospel until I was 14. I was saved at that moment, when I was struggling to breathe because I was grieving over the loss of my older brother. I cried out and He heard me. Christ saved me. He delivered me. He is our Emmanuel. He is with us. 🙂

Musically its moving and inspiring. And lyrically it has changed the way I think about Christmas songs.

“God rest ye merry gentlemen.” I know, I know. Weird choice right? The line that says “to save us all from satan’s power when we had gone astray” gets me every time. Talk about tidings of comfort & joy.
God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, may nothing you dismay, remember Christ our Saviour was born on Christmas day. That could be a Psalm. What reassuring lyrics. So that’s why it’s my favorite – and it’s a bit more funky than other typical Chris Kringle Christmas tunes 🙂

This is a tough question because there are so many Christmas songs I love! But if I had to pick one I’d say Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas is definitely on the top of my list. I love it because it reminds you with the lyrics “From now on our troubles will be miles away/ out of sight” that because of our Savior’s birth and life that He gave for us, we have a peace that is past human understanding and that no matter what troubles we go through we know that because of Jesus, everything is okay! All troubles should be miles away, and we can rest in joy because of our Savior!
O Holy Night by far is my most favorite… Goosebumps every time!

My favorite Christmas song is “Some Children See Him,” one of the more unknown songs out there. It’s essentially about how every child across the world pictures Jesus differently in his/her mind; that no matter how we see him he still loves us all with his unfailing love. I learned about it through an instrumental version on a Mannheim Steamroller Christmas album – you all should look it up!

My favorite Christmas song is Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas. Something about it makes it the most romantic song to me.
“What Child Is This” – The “Greensleeves” minor key melody coupled with the lyrics that stress so adamantly the kingship and sovereignty of Christ, and the worship due Him, makes for a truly unique, affective song of adoration for the God who became a human baby in order to, in time, die for His elect. Amen!
I love O Holy Night, but specifically when singing it. “Faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaall on your kneeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees…” I love to bust this one out! 🙂

My favorite Christmas song is O Come Emmanuel, but I’ve always liked Still Her Little Child. It tells not only the Christmas story, but of the real reason Jesus came to Earth…to die in our place as the ultimate sacrifice required by God to pay for our sins. And just like the gifts we receive each year, the Gift of God has to be received.

My favorite song is also “O come, O come Emannuel”. It’s a song that clearly encourages us to rejoice in Jesus. It’s always had a spot in my heart since comming to the Lord a little over a year ago, being in the holiday season. It strikes me as a kinda haunting song but I always get a warm feeling in my heart remembering the early stories of Jesus, made centered in this song. It’s become more than a Christmas song to me personally but truly a song of pure worship.
The song “I’m dreaming of a white Christmas” Is one of my favorites. When I was a child I lived in southern California. Snow was not something we were familiar with. My mom, who has passed on now, was from Maine. She always sang that song with such longing that the longing was somehow pressed into her children’s hearts. One Christmas day, we suddenly had snow falling outside. It only lasted for a few minutes, but it was wonderful! We went out and danced in it and caught it’s cold flurries in our mouths, and dreamt of snowmen and snowball fights. I have lived in Maine now for the last twenty eight years or so and every time I see the first snow, I always think of that day, and that song.
My favorite Christmas song of all time is without a doubt “What Child is This.” I love the imagery the lyrics paint. Jesus is portrayed as a poor, ordinary child until the song reaches the chorus and proclaims “This, THIS is Christ the King!” It gives me chills when I listen to it.
My favorite Christmas song would also be O Come O Come Emmanuel. It brings such peace and solace to the soul. With the over commercialism of Christmas, this song brings you back to what is the true and real meaning of Christmas.

My favorite christmas song would definitely be We Three Kings 😀 especially when I sing it in candlelight at disneyland every year, when choirs gather together and sing at disneyland! I love performing it with the rest of the choirs 🙂 😀

My favorite song would have to be “I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day.” The song has a beautiful history (written by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow on Christmas Day, 1864). Every time I hear it, I am reminded of GOD’s sovereignty and the hope we have in CHRIST.

My favorite song is definitely “Winter Snow” by Chris Tomlin. Sorry Phil, I love your music and your voice as well but I fell in love with this song.
Well would have to say that my favorite Christmas song is between 3 particular songs that have. at one point in my life really touched me. As a child I remember The First Noel really catching my attention. I was too young to fully understand the words but I remember how anointed that song was. I felt Jesus so close to me. The second is Oh Holy Night. I played that song on piano at church as a young youth when I wasn’t even following the Lord. When I came to the lyrical part “Fall on your knees”… I was compelled at heart to come back to the Lord. The third is Mary Did you know. Just the concept of the song is hair raising. My brother wasn’t following the Lord when my friends sang this at my house, after talking with my brother I was convinced that he to had felt the anointing. Christmas songs aren’t watered down. They are fully about our Lord and Savior…. it shouldn’t puzzle anyone why the hardest heart becomes soft around Christmas time… it’s the truth in the song that heals them 🙂
I have thousands – and I mean thousands of Christmas tunes so there are many ‘favorites’. But the one that brings a tear to my eye every time is Michael W. Smith’s ‘All Is Well’. Just typing it makes me begin to well up! Number two (if you’re asking…) would have to be Mannheim Steamroller’s ‘Silent Night’. That one sends chills up my spine!
O Holy Night! I heard it for the first time at a Christmas Eve service, and it totally blew me away.
Gotta go with “O Holy Night” – not only a lyrical masterpiece but the music is incredibly moving as well!

My favorite Christmas song would have to be “Do You Hear What I Hear”, especially when it’s done by the band Copeland. I just love how simple it is musically but the message of the song is quite elaborate; it’s the birth of Our Savior!

O Holy Night is my favorite Christmas song! I also love singing Silent Night at the Christmas Eve candle light service. So moving.
Mine is “We Three Kings.” I used to think it was just a silly song and didn’t have much to do with the Truth of Christmas. But a couple years ago I really read through the verses and was fascinated. Each verse describes one of the gifts the wise men brought, and how they correspond with characteristics of Jesus. (ie. gold = king, frankincense = priest, and myrrh = sacrificial lamb.) My youth group did a version with electric guitar and oboe and it was so powerful!

It’s sooooo hard to choose. If the CHRISTmas song truly speaks of CHRIST then that’s good enough for me! However, I do have some love for “O Holy Night,” “Carol of the Bells,” and “Little Drummer Boy.” Phil’s version just happens to be my faaaaave!
My favorite song is “O’ Holy Night.” Something about this melodic arpeggiating song with powerful lyrics just stirs the emotion in me. This song makes me recognize the beauty of the mercy of God’s Son to come down to us. Other religions require man to go to their God or Diety, while ours came as a child and emptied His right as God to become man and lead us back to the Father. This song makes me want to fall on my knees and hear the angel voices and worship God.
My favorite Christmas song is “While you were sleeping” by Casting Crowns. I like it so much because it is such a convicting song. It touches me because it makes me think about how my country doesn’t have any room for my king anymore and it helps me to stay the course and make sure I always have time for KING JESUS in my life. It really is just an amazing song for any time of the year, but even more so at Christmas. I love the connection Mark Hall makes between Bethlehem and America having no room for Jesus. I absolutely LOVE Christmas and all Christmas music…it is really hard to pick just one song but “I want a Hippopotamus for Christmas” is one of my favorite. “O Holy Night” can’t be beat! Have a very Merry Christmas!
I love the melody to Greensleeves. That tune has always captivated my emotions.
The lyrical version is called “What Child is This?”. When the Trans Siberian Orchestra plays it, it just gets me in a good mood.
My favorite is hands down “Gloria” sung by Michael W. Smith on his Christmas album! Every year after Thanksgiving is over and we break out the Christmas decorations, I always make sure that the first CD that we play is that album, and Gloria is the best part!

Without a doubt, “O Holy Night” is my favorite. A few other “must hear” are “Silent Night” and “What Child is This?” There are so many wonderful songs though, it’s hard to be decisive. I can’t wait to hear Phil’s version of “O Come O Come Emmanuel,” he has such a powerful voice – coupled with the words of that song = a moving experience I’m sure!
My all-time favorite is It Came Upon a Midnight Clear. There’s just something about it that resonates with me.

“What Child Is This” is easily my favorite. You see, my mother was the Administrative Assistant of the church I grew up, attended and served in for more than 25 years and she was also widely known as being THE most gifted vocalist. Her talents for singing were honed in the USO in the 50’s and 60’s (well before I came along in 1978). In all the years we attended the church I grew up in, the most beautiful piece she ever sang was this song. Ever since I’ve been fixated on the piece and found that it always reminds me of her. Now she is aging and I know I will not have her here forever. This song will not only remind me of her for the rest of my time on this earth, but it will remind me that no matter where she is, she is in perfect peace and the day will come when we’ll be reunited.

My favorite Christmas song is “Mary Did You Know” and it doesn’t matter who sings it. The words just amaze me every time.
I love it when they sing “when you’ve kissed your little baby, you’ve kissed the face of God”. Now THAT is an amazing thought. How Moses couldn’t even see God but Mary was able to hold Him, kiss His forehead, and tuck Him in at night. Amazing that God would, in a way, make Himself so dependent for so much, so that later, He could free us from all of our sins.

I have a three-way tie for my favorite Christmas song. It’s “O Holy Night”, “Strange Way to Save the World” by 4Him and “Christmas Is All In The Heart” from Steven Curtis Chapman. Those three songs really encompass Christmas to me.

“All I Really Want” by Steven Curtis Chapman is easily my favorite. I’m adopted and the song speaks to how blessed I am.

My favorite is “O Holy Night.” No other Christmas song equals its beautiful melody coupled with such great words. And I really love the third verse which says “the slave is our brother…” and talks about how “in His name all oppression shall cease,” crescendoing at the end with “Christ is the Lord, or praise His name forever! His power and glory evermore proclaim!!” To me the whole song captures the meaning of Christmas better than any other. Awesome!

i love lots of Christmas songs… my latest favorite, though, is “i heard the bells on Christmas day.” i think it speaks so well to our generation (though it was written 150-odd years ago): vs. 3-4 – “then in despair i bowed my head/ ‘there is no peace on earth,’ i said/ for hate is strong and mocks the song/ of ‘peace on earth good will to men’/ yet pealed the bells more loud and deep/ ‘God is not dead, nor does He sleep/ the wrong shall fail, the right prevail/ with peace on earth good will to men'” amen. He has come to bring life. and there is hope because He is not finished yet. and He is coming again.

My absolute favorite Christmas song is “O Holy Night”. My other favorite (which is a very very close second) is Aaron Shust’s “O Come O Come Emmanuel” because he uses a penny whistle. If you haven’t heard it yet…you should it is amazing!

Hi! My favourite Christmas Song is “God Rest ye Merry Gentlemen” by Mercy Me. Its a song of hope that everlasting peace is not far away. Moreover, it also conveys that there is nothing more real in this universe than the fact that God took the form of man to save him and gift him ‘Eternal Life’!!

It’s so hard to pick a favorite, but I have always loved “O Come, O Come Emmanuel.” “Silent Night” and “O Little Town of Bethlehem” are up there at the top, too.

My favorite Christmas song is “God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen.” Interestingly, while the carol was first published in the 18th-19th centuries, many people believe that it was first written in the 15th century. It would, then, be one of the oldest Christmas carols still sung today. All six verses of the carol progress in an excellent retelling of the first Christmas story; sadly, most churches only sing the first and last stanzas. My favorite lines come from the first verse and are the reminder of the need for Christmas: “For Jesus Christ our Saviour/Was born upon this day,/To save us all from Satan’s power/When we were gone astray.” (So far, my favorite version of this song is by Annie Lennox off her new Christmas album, but if Phil Wickham would sing it, I would have a new favorite!)

I would have to say that I enjoy many Christmas Songs/Carols. I just love the song Mary Did You know, I know of 2 people who sing it really well. The first one is Kenny Rogers, and also Donny Osmond. I like that the fact that it is really one of the only songs that lets you think about how did Mary feel? She was such a young girl to be going through this. Merry Christmas!
My favorite Christmas carol is probably O Come, o come Emmanuel although It came upon a midnight clear, Breath of Heaven, Mary did you know and Carol of the Bells are all among my favorites. 🙂

My favorite Christmas song of all time is All I want for Christmas by Steven Curtis Chapman.
My favorite song is “Mary, Did You Know” because it reminds us what Christmas is about, the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ and the very reason God sent His Son to save us from our sins. It is a beautiful song and sets the pace for the season. God Bless!
I guess I’d have to say O Come, O Come Emmanuel is my favorite (it’s so difficult to choose just one!). I really like the sound of the music when sung to the accompaniment of an accoustic guitar.
