    More Beautiful You

When Jonny Diaz wrote his hit single, “More Beautiful You,” I don’t think he could have predicted the impact it made on women of all ages across the country.

While society tells us there will always be someone more beautiful than us, or someway to make ourselves more beautiful by trying this or losing that, Jonny’s song reminds us that we are God’s masterpiece, His perfect imperfection, and He doesn’t make mistakes.

So Jonny teamed up with his mother, Gwendolyn Diaz, and together they wrote the book “More Beautiful You,” a short study on “true beauty” through God’s eyes.  It’s an encouragement to all women who have been worn down by societies expectations that you’re not alone in your struggles, and that there could never be a “More Beautiful You.”

Here’s the powerful music video for “More Beautiful You”:

Jonny’s book is on sale now on his website, but I have five books here with me that I’m looking to give away.  Comment back on this post with your definition of true beauty, and I’ll randomly choose five winners in 2 weeks (8/30) and send you his book!

    Tell someone they’re beautiful today,

    Mikaela

True beauty is what you have inside that you show outwardly, by serving others and being a light for Christ. Everyone is beautiful!

True beauty is what is inside your heart, how you treat someone. True beauty is having the courage to stand up for what is right and following God. True beauty is knowing God and following His ways. True beauty makes someone say “I want to be like them.” no matter what you look like on the outside. God created everyone perfect for His plan. True beauty is when we accept that and do our best to submit to God and live the full potential He made us for.

True beauty is embracing the role God has called you to, serving others, shining the Light in your everyday life, and rebelling against the societal archetype that “beauty is only skin deep.” It comes from deep within, and can’t be captured in any photograph or video; true beauty is a reflection Christ in your heart!

and I agree with the person above me, EVERYONE is beautiful!!

In this crazy world that we live in we sometimes forget what true Beauty is. When we turn on the T.V all we see is girls or ladies who have had something done to make them look like the person God didn’t create. I love the song More beautiful you beacuse its telling me I don’t have to look like everyone else to be Beautiful.

True beauty is God. God’s beauty is overpowering. Since God created us, and we were created in His image.. we are, in turn, beautiful. True beauty was created by God, and everything is beautiful solely because of Him.

True beauty is found when you are so in love with the Lord that it shines through your actions and your words. Man looks at the outside appearance, but God alone looks at the heart – and that’s all that really matters.

1 Peter 3:3-4 says, “Your adornment must not be merely external (braiding the hair, and wearing gold jewelry, or putting on dresses) but let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the imperishable quality of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in the sight of God.”

True beauty is when you finally stop following the world and start following Christ. Not just claiming to follow Him, but truly following Him with all of your soul. As a result, you shine out differently from the rest of the world, not because of your outward appearance, but because they see Jesus in you and your actions. True beauty is when you give yourself up to the Lord, and become an example so that those who are still lost can know salvation and discover God’s grace, which is more beautiful than we can ever imagine.

True beauty is my daughter, Corrina. She LOVES ‘More Beautiful You’ the song and loved it the first time she heard it. She used this song during the video we showed at her Baptism last November. She is the most caring child. Since 3rd grade, being in public school, she has befriended the special needs kids with no qualm. She has several that she is friends with and doesn’t think twice about it. One young boy is her age and he can’t speak, walk or do much for himself and while in 5th grade, she learned how to feed him through his tube in his tummy and also helped with his care several times. She is truly beautiful!! I’m proud to be her mom.

True beauty comes from our Creator. It’s our uniqueness. Each and every one of us is beautiful in the sight of our Creator, for we were created in His image. Proverbs 31: 10-31 describes a beautiful woman of God who finds her beauty in the LORD. Proverbs 31:30 says “charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting but a woman who FEARS THE LORD is to be praised.” Fear of the LORD is the key to true beauty. True beauty comes from the heart. A heart that is fully devoted to seeking Christ.

True beauty means something different to every person. What I do know is that true beauty reflects your true self. Whether it may be through actions or words, it’s what shows who you really are. It’s a part that you’re not willing to change, no matter what. It’s something you are standing firm in, especially in Christ. In Christ, true beauty reflects His characteristics. God says, we are made in his image. Therefore we are like Him. So when we love like He does, our true beauty shows.

True beauty is what is found on the inside. The love you have in your heart for God will shine through you, and you’ll see what beautiful is about when you’re looking in, not when you’re looking out. Beauty is not ‘skin deep’ as the media would like us to believe, but it’s so much more. Every single person is beautiful!

True Beauty is all in the heart! Beauty should not be defined by how somebody looks. You have to have a great personality and that’s what makes true beauty. You could meet the most beautiful girl in the world and they have the worst attitude ever. Who would find that beautiful? But when you have a true and beautiful heart that’s when you can honestly say you have “True Beauty”. So I believe that true beauty is all about who you are in the inside! 🙂

The media’s version of beauty says that we have to have this certain type of body, this color hair, that color eyes, these designer clothes, etc. True beauty isn’t defined by size, by hair or eye color, definitely not by skin, or by hair or anything. Beauty is more than anything, an inward thing.

Kind, caring, loving; these traits and more show through from the inside out, and that is what makes you the most beautiful. And everyone is beautiful. They may have a beauty from within that shines out or a beauty you see immediately. But no one has a right to tell anyone else they aren’t beautiful because that is how God made them and He doesn’t make mistakes. We are all his beauties.

True beauty is the “Fruit of the Spirit” manifested in a person–love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. God created each of us differently, but when one of these characteristics shines through, we become our most beautiful self.

True Beauty has nothing to do with outward beauty. True beauty is seen by others by the light you shine as you give of yourself to others. By humility, by grace, by your love shining as you willingly make choices that will show others that you walk by faith in an unending love that your Father has graced you with.

Its believing that no matter what life throws your way Gods gonna help you handle it. True Beauty is being confident in who you are and loving that person for what they mean. True Beauty means tuning out the world and listening to your heart and God. Then and only then can you be truly beautiful through Him.

When, only because of your actions, people can see what God is all about. True beauty is found inside someone, in their actions towards other people, not in a magazine or on a television show.

To me, true beauty is found in someone’s character. I believe that is formed by the grace that begins by God working in, and loving on their heart. After awhile, that beauty seeps out to be visible to others, as a result of the grace and love in their heart. It’s being accepting of the fact that you are loved exactly as you are, and trying to live in a way that helps others see that too.

How can someone know what true beauty is when they have always been told they are worthless? How can someone know what true beauty is when every time they look in the mirror they see a woman unwanted, alone, worthless, and hard to love. All you can hear when someone tells you you are beautiful is your mother’s cutting edge words, “Who would want you, you’re nothing?!” What is true beauty? I cannot tell you. But, I am an expert on what it is not.

      “Your Choice”
The world may say beauty is all about looks,
portrayed by models in magazines or books.
Many define it by a size, shape and style
but, this so called beauty lasts for only a while.

Personally I believe beauty’s much more diverse
not defined by some clothing, or hairstyle, or purse.
So just what is beauty? The question may be.
Well I’ve searched inside of my life just to see.

Beauty is more than something skin deep
it’s a newborn baby fast asleep.
It’s letting love take over your life,
and getting over hard times filled with strife.

Beauty is sunsets and overcoming fears,
a newlywed bride, her eyes filled with tears.
It’s someone going the extra mile,
or a senior graduating with a smile.

It’s summers sun and winters snow,
watching a little one get bigger and grow.
Beauty is looking at the sun bright above.
It’s spending the day with someone that you love.

It’s a soldier fighting freedoms war,
getting that point that raises the score.
The ocean waves, a soothing sound
and anywhere it can be found.

      Beauty’s found in any weather,
it’s a group for a cause all working together
      Discrimination plays no part.
Beauty come pure from the heart.

The fact is that your beauty all comes down to you.
For you choose the things that you say and you do.
The thoughts that you think and the words that you say
will either bring beauty more near or away.

I believe in the end it’s up to you to choose
the beauty you gain or the beauty you lose

True Beauty comes from within. It’s the ability to accept yourself the way God created you, accepting that you are perfectly and wonderfully made, created with joy and pleasure by the Father.
      It’s learning to believe Song of Solomon 2:2 and 4:7, 45:11, 1 Peter 3:3-4, and Proverbs 31:30.
It’s something I strive to remind myself (and others) of, even when I don’t feel beautiful. It’s what More Beautiful You started reminding me when I first heard the song. It’s what OperationBeautiful has helped to remind me of.
It’s the inside that counts. You can have a gorgeous body but still not be happy with who you are; True Beauty is accepting yourself and radiating that light to others.

You don’t have to hide your smile and the light in your eyes when you’re happy. You don’t have to be afraid to cry or be honest. I imagine it’s different for everyone. But what defines true beauty to me right now is my little daughter and everything she represents. I almost made the horrible choice not to have her because of my own fear, but was talked out of that decision by many family members and friends. Now every day I look at her sweet little face and realize what a change she made in my life – and that is why God chose to give her to ME, as unworthy as I was. I strive every day to be a better person, mother, for her. She (as God’s gift) has made me a more beautiful me, on the inside. Nothing is more beautiful than the innocence and joy on a small child’s face, especially when you experience it on a daily basis. 🙂 I love her! Thank you, Lord!

‘What is true beauty?” This is not a hard question to answer but it is a hard message to convey. I do not even have to look at my two daughters to see their inner and true beauty. Their presence alone can convey that beauty. Society will tell them that their beauty only exists from an outer perspective and can be maximized with enhancements to every portion of their physical body. But “true beauty” has already been set in place and maximized from our Saviour and Creator. The protected smile, the belly laugh, the bright glance, the uncertainty, the gentle touch, the inhibition, the sensitivity, the quirkiness…….what BEAUTY!

True Beauty is on the inside I see my true beauty on myself through the scar I have on my face even though that is physical it is a reminder of something deeper. It is a lesson that I needed to learn given by the Lord. It is a gift He gave me. I became a very vain/proud person in the view I had of myself. The Lord got my attention from myself to Himself through a nearly fatal car accident…This is how I ended up with the scar. It is a visual reminder for how precious I am to Jesus He had a greater plan for my life than what I thought of myself. He placed in me a true beauty through the joy, the thankfulness of life, the desire to live and love for Him because I am His bride His love. That is beautiful to be assured the Lord has more than what this world wants to offer because of something physical. God knows the heart and He sees it as beautiful and He made us just as we are we are His perfect masterpiece. His beautiful Poema as long as we choose to live and give ourselves to Him He will be the one to bless us all with true beauty.

Despite our differences, inner beauty is something everyone possesses. Inner beauty and true beauty, to me, are synonomous. True beauty is truly a gift: you know your friend that is beautiful inside? The one who puts others before herself, the one who always seems to stay calm, no matter what situation they’re put in. The one who make everyone around her happy, just by being herself. The one who’s always going to be there for you, forever. That’s someone who has true beauty possessed to the max! We all know someone like this, and I, too, want to be someone like this. If I get the opportunity to read this book, I think it’ll affect my self esteem. It gives me hope to see men confident enough to publish a book of this kind!

I saw true beauty there as you sang songs that where beautiful songs of love about our Saviour and the blessings we are given as husband and wife. The reflections seen in the eyes of every man was the reflection of pure love for his beautiful wife. Beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder and our Lord is our Beholder- so sisters- you are all beautiful!

True Beauty is my definition of my relationship with Jesus Christ. After battling an eating disorder for a number of years, being broken from the pain and rejection of relationships, and feeling at an all time low, I called out to Jesus to save me from this torment. Through my salvation, I have learned that my life in Christ is the only thing that matters. I am beautiful because he made me beautiful and I am nothing without him.

True Beauty, is what others see beyond the outward appearance, but when they see you as you are, in your heart and your soul, and they desire it.
True beauty is the ability to shine through like a light that brightens the sky in the dark, when it is so bright that it leads everyone to search it out. It’s when you are humble enough yet bold enough to speak about all the grace that God has given you, and others are drawn to you.
It is when a person recognizes the grace and it completes who they are, and it shows from the inside out.
True Beauty is when others see your gentleness, your kindness and they see the love that’s in your heart by the way that you live. They see your compassion and recognize that it’s something they desire. It’s when you have faithfulness that God will see you through in all situations and you’re confident and thankful and it shows in nearly everything you do. When you feel complete as a person because you know that you are Christ’s child, and others are your siblings and you treat them as Christ would treat them..

True beauty lies within every creation of God. The truth is only found when it is first acknowledged and believed. When we first have faith in our Creator, we will be given the faith to believe in perfection as we are, untainted with excess amounts of make up and products, just as we are. Then the beauty begins to be a reflection of one’s own sense of self as they see themselves in the eyes of the Father. The reflection of Christ will be exposed and true beauty hidden deep within the lies of society will be released as every word and every behavior from the person is love to all, only because they love the Father first and they love themselves as they are. True beauty is for all of us for we are all perfect, only with Christ.

I think true beauty is reflecting God’s glory, grace and love ~ like a mirror. That way everyone around us can see Him inside us – what He has and is doing and the love not only the He has for us but that we have for Him. That is so beautiful and powerful that it can help people see we’re different and make them want what we have and give us the opportunity to share the good news with them.

It is so encouraging to people, especially teens, to hear that you are beautiful. God made you who you are, and He made you perfectly. You don’t have to change the way you look to be beautiful – you already are beautiful. And you’re loved the way you are.
Life is short – don’t waste time trying to make yourself be a fake. Just be yourself, and help others realize they are beautiful, too.

You can see it when a child offers another child their toy because the first child is sad; when my daughter tells her friends she loves them and hugs them before they leave; when a stranger offers a helping hand; when a “gift” from a mysterious source lifts your day; when a person gives of themselves continuously and asks nothing in return they are truly beautiful.

      True Beauty;
True beauty is something more than what we humans know of. We shouldn’t be comparing ourselves or letting others put us down because of what we look like. It’s about being God’s masterpiece and appreciating what he given us. We are not junk. We are all unique and beautiful. Like it says in the bible, we’re all made in God’s image. We should know that his word says he will make us masterpieces and use us to do great things. We should allow him to mold us to what he wants us to be. We are his original masterpieces.
If you think about it, do we all want to look alike? If this was the world today, we would not truly grasp the true meaning of the beauty or love. It’ll all be full of sin. We are all made in his image, his original masterpieces. Showing God’s love in a practical way can make anyone’s day better or make them feel good about themselves. True beauty is understanding God’s love for each and everyone of us.

“Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.”

True beauty is on the inside, letting the love of Christ shine through so that without saying a word people realize that something is different about you.

True beauty is nothing more than letting your heart be shown to the world. No gimmicks, no fakes, no hidden agendas.. just your heart- through the good and bad. When one can show the world who they truly are on the inside, they are showing their true beauty- the way God designed them to be.

1 Peter 3:3-5 (New International Version)

3Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes. 4Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight. 5For this is the way the holy women of the past who put their hope in God used to make themselves beautiful. They were submissive to their own husbands,

True Beauty: It is what your spiritual side to you is that our Lord and Savior gave us. It is in your heart not what is out side that truly matters God made us all different, but he knows how we are and as Christians we follow his ways and respect our body’s.

True beauty lies in the eye of the beholder. 🙂

True beauty is the ability to realize that no matter what, God has made you special; knowing that anything you have done in the past or will do in the future has already been forgiven by God. True beauty is the ability to remain pure in a society that tells us, everyday, that God is not real, and that our beliefs as Christians mean nothing. Being able to turn away from human nature and peer pressure. Realizing that the opinions of others don’t matter. Being able to look in the mirror and seeing the person you are, the person God created you to be. Loving yourself BECAUSE God created you. Loving others, knowing that God loved you first. Being able to look adversity in the face and telling it that it can’t hurt you. Whether a Christian or not, everyone is beautiful because God made them. Understanding that is true beauty.

I believe that true beauty really does come from within. You can be the most beautiful person in the world, but still not have true beauty. True beauty is about being yourself and being the person that God made you to be. God did not put us here to obsess over body image or strive to have “the perfect body”. He wants us to be happy with who He made us to be and show others how much we love Him and what He has done for us. If we can understand this and look beyond the image we see in the mirror, then we can find the true beauty that is within.

True beauty comes from within. When you have Jesus in your heart, and you are following His Will, you can’t help but be beautiful. It is a lifelong process, but worth every second.

True beauty comes when you know who you are and know Jesus is with you. True beauty is knowing your of worth. It is something worth waiting for but you have to work for it.

True beauty is something on the inside not on the outside. You see true beauty through your actions and your heart. Only God knows whats on your mind and in your heart and He sees your True Beauty. So you shouldn’t worry if other people don’t see it because God’s opinion is the only one that matters.

True beauty. I personally think it cannot be expressed in words. But to give a little glimpse of it: When a girl decides to accept the way she is, knowing God loves her more than anyone and that he didn’t mess up with anyone. She becomes beautiful because she is shining her inner beauty through God, and because she knows God made her in a special way, when she’s peaceful with herself in the inside, it shows on the outside.

true beauty comes from the heart. Some of the most beautiful people may not be the ones who are drop dead gorgeous on the outside, but they are the ones whose actions show that they are truly beautiful… on the inside! They are the ones who have the servant hearts, and who are willing to help, and love people for who they are! thats my definition of true beauty..

True beauty is knowing that I am beautiful to my Father. Living with a disability I have had to learn that beauty is not outward appearance alone. True beauty has to do with how you view yourself. When you realize that God sees you as a masterpiece, you can see yourself for who you really are…a princess, a daughter of the Almighty!

True beauty is a direct result of love – love of yourself, and love of others – love which God has for us, and has shown us through His example. True beauty is an empty street where the only sound you can hear is the chirping of birds. True beauty is my little sister when she dances. True beauty is my grandmother when she gives peppermints to the kids before they go to sunday school in the morning. True beauty is the kid across the street picking up the garbage off the sidewalk. It sounds cliche and almost to simple, but they’re really all celebrations and continuations of the love that God has given us. True beauty is a direct result of love – love of yourself, and love of others – love which God has for us, and has shown us through His example.

Well, it’s a little late, but I’m going to post my definition of beauty anyways.

True beauty is not in outward apperances, despite what the world says. After all, Proverbs 30:31 (or 31:30, I forgot) says “Charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the Lord shall be praised.” I think that verse says it all. Beauty can fade, right? That should mean it’s not something we should be concerned about, but rather we should strive to have pure, beautiful hearts. And pure, beautiful hearts are being kind, not being deceitful, not caring too much about how your hair or clothes look, and not wearing immodest or impure clothing.

I mean, I’m 12 years old, and in 8th grade, homeschooled, but my church has become so…secular, I suppose, that it’s become a contest to see who has the best, thickest hair, who’s wearing the most expensive clothes, rather than a place to worship and study God’s word.

Anyways, inside beauty isn’t something complicated. It’s simply, clearly, being kind. That kind of covers it all, doesn’t it? Don’t forget Proverbs 31:30, everyone. 😉

True beauty is not what you see when you look in a mirror. It’s not what you see while flipping through a fashion magazine. True beauty is what God saw when He envisioned and created you. It’s what He sculpted you to look like on the inside. True beauty is not what you wish to look like, it’s who you already are (on the inside).

True beauty is the way God looks upon you and how you view yourself. True beauty isn’t on the outside, it’s only found in the blood running through your veins. Your beauty comes when you live a life glorifying God. And when you see God on the final day you will realize just how beautiful you really are.
