Disciple contest: ask a question to win a CD collection!

Hey all you disciple fans out there! This week, we are giving away a full disciple CD collection! Disciple has been really busy lately with the Rock and Worship Roadshow, but they have still found time to answer fan questions on Twitter! Here are some of our favorite tweets:

@colincancer72@disciplerocks do Underoath and Norma Jean rock your socks off??” we don’t wear socks

@Ben_Breshears7@disciplerocks how did you guys get your start?” bunch of dudes wanting to share Christ

@Jadairabac@disciplerocks if you could meet one musician, dead or alive, who would or be?” William Hung

@TheKorrinaHimes@disciplerocks If you weren’t in the band, God forbid, what do you think you’d be doing?” trying to join one

So, we want to know, if you could ask the members of disciple anything at all, what would it be? Comment with your question for a chance to win a disciple CD collection!

Also, Disciple has been posting “crowd cam” videos from the Rock and Worship Road Show after every city they visit! Here are a few of them! For more, visit their youtube page.

What’s Crafting Wednesday – Scripture Wall Art

This week, Becca has shared a great craft that you can do at home with your favorite scripture verse! She created this beautiful piece of art, and now you can do the same! Thanks, Becca!

What you will need:

  1. canvas
  2. paints(preferably acrylics)
  3. large paint brush
  4. sharpie fine point paint markers – silver and brown
  5. tacky glue (or another strong glue)
  6. scrapbooking paper
  7. floral embellishments – sold at most any craft store

Instructions:

  1. Paint the entire canvas a solid background color. You can also mix and blend colors for more texture.
  2. Let dry.
  3. Draw the silhouette of a tree branch with the brown paint sharpie. Try to keep it mostly in the bottom half of the canvas to leave room for the writing.

TIP: It may help you to sketch the branch in pencil before using the sharpie.

  1. Fill in the outline of the branch with either the brown sharpie or with brown paint.
  2. Cut the silhouette of a bird out of a piece of scrapbooking paper. This can be any color of your choosing.
  3. Cover the entire back of the bird cutout with strong glue, and stick the bird to the tree branch.
  4. Write the verse at the top of the canvas in silver sharpie paint (or the color of your choice) as well as putting the reference (Psalm 13:6) at the bottom if you so choose.
  5. Finally, glue your floral embellishments onto the tree branches! You can use as much or as little as you like!
  6. Let dry, and display your masterpiece for everyone to see!

Jonny Diaz Shares The Story Behind His New Song “Scars”

Jonny Diaz has a brand new single on the way, and spent some time recently sharing a little bit about it with us. Check out the video below to see what he had to say about the story and meaning behind his new song “Scars!”

Praise God we don’t have to hide scars
They just strengthen our wounds and they soften our hearts
They remind us of where we have been, but not who we are
Praise God we don’t have to hide scars

-Jonny Diaz

Free Download From Darlene Zschech!

Today we’ve got a great free track from Darlene Zschech’s latest album, “You Are Love.” We thought it was fitting this week with all of the talk of love surrounding Valentines Day. So we wanted to let Darlene share her thoughts about God’s love, and how she has learned to put that into practice through her life. Check out the video below as she shares about the theme of the album and her involvement with the Hope Rwanda ministry, and scroll down to get your free download of her song “Faithful.”

To me, “You Are Love” is just descriptive of who God is, because love defines him. It doesn’t always define us, but it does define him. It’s not about great songs. With my life I want to announce his presence, and that’s what I’m really praying that this project does. That it just continues to announce the goodness of God. –Darlene
