We asked her a few questions so that you could get to know her and the story behind her album, and she answered them in the video below!

Rebekah Maddux El-Hakam (pronounced /ˈel-hock-um/; born July 30, 1977) is an American Christian Contemporary Musician, worship leader and songwriter born in Conroe, Texas, and now based in Houston, Texas. Maddux El-Hakam’s independent debut, Radiant You was released September, 18, 2012. Her first radio single, The Glory of it All was released in September 2012.

Rebekah collaborated with Nashville-based producer, Marshall Altman on her debut album. The album was recorded in Nashville, TN at The House of Blues Studios and Galt Line. The album’s first single is “The Glory of it All”, released on September 18. Rebekah wrote 10 original songs for her debut album and she arranged and wrote a new chorus to the Hymn, Be Thou My Vision, entitled Be My Vision. Rebekah is a songwriter on CCLI.com with congregations across the United States accessing her music for their worship services. Some of Rebekah’s most well-known songs are “The Glory of it All”, “Your Promises”, “Radiant You”, “Hallelujah, I Love You” and “Dream Coming True” which she co-wrote with Moustapha El-Hakam.

Rebekah Maddux El-Hakam married Moustapha El-Hakam, attorney and songwriter in January of 2004. They have four children. Rebekah is currently a lead worshipper at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Houston, Texas. Rebekah is presently touring and leading worship throughout the greater-Houston area and Texas to promote Radiant You.

I think that’s why I love Sara Groves’ rendition of the hymn so much. She takes a song that is traditionally big and bold and brings it down to simple and sweet. She makes it intimate, and every word is like a lullaby to our savior! Thanks, Sara, for such a charming rendition of an old favorite!

It’s Christmas time, and many of us are gearing up to take road trips to various parts of the country to visit family for the Holidays. The guys from Hawk Nelson were on a roadtrip last week, and in their boredom, they defied the rules of the road and recorded an acoustic preview of a song off their new album in the back of their van.

You know Josh Wilson as the singer of songs like “I Refuse” and “Before the Morning.” His songs are inspiring and beautiful, so we expect (and get) nothing less from his Christmas album. Perhaps the most unique part of Josh Wilson’s Christmas tour and album is the live looping setup he has at his concerts. Be sure to watch the video below for more information about his unique concert setup. He has 24 instruments on stage with only 2 players, but with the help of technology, he can create a huge sound.

For about 8 years, I’ve been doing live looping, which is using a pedal to record a guitar part, then playing that part back while adding new layers of music on top of it.  It’s essentially bringing the studio to the stage.  (Here’s a video of one of my very first loop arrangements: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2EQob_DGAh0&ob=av2n )  In 2009, I decided to add a few more instruments to my looping setup and do a Christmas tour.  I set up 8 instruments in a circle and stood in the middle of them to record Christmas carols for audiences in a handful of cities.  I had such a great time that I did it again the next year, adding to the stage 8 more instruments and fellow singer/songwriter Wes Pickering. – Josh Wilson
