Troops in the Middle East get inspired by MercyMe on the band’s first USO tour

The guys of MercyMe recently set out on their first USO/ Armed Force Entertainment tour, delivering a touch of home to troops in the Middle East. They staged three one-of-a-kind concerts, signed autographs and uplifted the spirits of service men and women.

Check out some photos from their time there below!

I can’t really express how much of a blessing this USO tour was for the band and myself, it was just amazing.  There is no greater sacrifice then self-sacrifice and no one knows that better than our troops, ‘thank you’ doesn’t seem like enough but I hope they realize how much we appreciate their service.” – Bart Millard of MercyMe

MercyMe is a big supporter of military families, and their 2009 release “Finally Home” paid homage to service heroes. Watch the “Finally Home” music video below.

It won't let us watch. Says it's blocked in my country (USA)

Thank you Mercy Me for taking time to support our troops! My son is in the US Navy and sacrifices everyday as he is away from his 2 1/2 year old daughter and the rest of our family. Our military makes it possible for us to have the freedoms we have! You are right that 'Thank you" just isn't enough! When a person sees someone in uniform, take the time to thank them. It's little things like that which can make a difference that day for them!

Come on a USO tour again! We need better bands to come, especially in the CCM market. In my 14 years in the USAF I've never been in the right spot to take in a CCM artist on a USO tour. Keep playing...never give up.
