“Liberty” Lyrics

The Lord is the Spirit
Where the Spirit of the Lord is now
There is liberty
And the Spirit lives inside of me
And where the Spirit of the Lord is now
There is liberty
There is liberty
There is liberty

For freedom You’ve set me free
And yes I am free indeed
You rewrote my name
Unshackled my shame
You opened my eyes to see
That I am free

When the spirit of the world comes
To kill me and enslave me I will say
There is liberty
For the chains of sin
That once entangled me
Have been broken now I’m singing cause I’m free
There is liberty
There is liberty
There is liberty

The storm rolled in
It was dark in the land
As the Son of Man was crucified
You don’t take His life
He laid it down
And He paid the price
And shed His blood
It is done the veil is torn
He has won and I am free
I am free
I am free
I am free

To whoever reads this, does anyone have the correct lyrics? It's sad that these lyrics are so well crafted, and then posted on the website wrong. I'm still not certain if in the chorus they're singing, "and shackled my shame" or "unshackled my shame" Here's what I'm hearing, starting with the 2nd verse. I'm not sure, but I think this is closer. any help would be appreciated. When the spirit of the world comes to kill me and enslave me I will say <---------------- There is liberty For the chains of sin that once entangled me Have been broken, now I'm singing 'cause I'm free <---------------- There is liberty, there is liberty, There is liberty For freedom You set me free And yes, I am free indeed You rewrote my name And shackled my shame <---------------- You opened my eyes to see I am free The storm rolled in It was dark in the land As the Son of Man Was crucified You don't take his life He laid it down He paid the price And shed His blood It is done! The veil is torn It is won <---------------- And I am free And I am free And I am free I am free

Could you actually publish the chords? He keeps referencing chords and talking about how easy they are, but I'm not familiar with the variations. It should be simple to list the chords and variations. Also, it sounds like he is tuned down a half step. Did I miss where he said that or am I hearing it wrong?

  • Steve wrote on March 6, 2012

What is the tuning of the guitar on this?

  • Paul wrote on April 5, 2012

Steve and Jace, he is tuned down a half step. If you follow the chords he is playing, just capo 1 instead of 2
