Embarrassing Moments.

Everyone has embarrassing moments.  Some people, like me, are more prone to awkward or embarrassing moments than the average person.

My birthday was in April, and I had just received a pair of neon green Toms from my mom.  I was walking back to my dorm, admiring my new Toms on my feet and not really paying attention to where I was walking.  On this specific path, I had to cross a low-level chain fence right next to an intramural basketball game that was going on.  Because I was admiring my Toms, I was not paying attention to said fence, and proceeded to get my foot caught in the chain, land on my face, my backpack flew over my head, and a strange gargling, slow-motion moan emitted from my mouth.

I lay on the ground a few seconds, stunned, as the guy who has been walking behind me the whole time carefully clears the fence and walks away laughing.  It’s fine, I didn’t really want help up anyway.

Did I mention there was a huge crowd of people at a basketball court 25 feet away?  Or the fact that my brand new Toms now sported dirt spots?  Or that I was alone so I couldn’t just laugh it off with a friend?

Great birthday.

Lucky for me, I’m not the only one with an embarrassing story involving tripping in front of a large crowd.

Phil Wickham shares a video with us on his website, www.philwickham.com, of one of his most embarrassing moments on stage.  Here it is:

Lucky for us, that one moment didn’t stop him from playing music on stage ever again.  His new single, In My Love, comes out in a couple of weeks, and it would be an embarrassment to miss this awesome song!  He shares the story behind In My Love here:

As Phil asks of his fans on his website, we’d love to hear your most awkward or embarrassing story!  Comment back on this post in a few short sentences and give us a few laughs!
