Running.

disciple-0096_330x200

I love to run. It’s such a good way to relieve stress and clear my head.

I have a confession to make, though… I have been a TOTAL slacker because it has been so hot and because I haven’t really felt like listening to any of the music on my running playlist.

UNTIL NOW. I have channeled my inner-hard-rock-loving-self and it’s been GREAT as my running-in-miserable-heat-motivation.

What is it, you ask?

The NEW single from DISCIPLE. It’s called “Dear X, You Don’t Own Me” and seriously, it’s already my all time favorite Disciple song. I spent some time with the Disciple guys yesterday and heard the WHOLE NEW ALBUM that will be in stores on September 14. I wish that I could let you all listen to it right this second. MARK your calendars. You need this album. It’s AMAZING. It will change your life. (Or, at least your exercise routine… and it will make car rides fun again.)

The good news: “Dear X, You Don’t Own Me” is AVAILABLE on itunes TODAY! It will be the best $0.99 you have EVER spent. So – Go. Get. It. Now!!!

AND – if you already have it – tell me what you think here and I may just pick a winner and give something away. It will be a surprise. Ready, Set… Go.

Rachel

I don't own Disciple's new song, but I've heard it, and love it. It is amazing, and very inspiring. I have been reading a number of books including Francis Chan's Crazy Love, and Do Hard Things by Brett and Alex Harris, and my life has changed. I am about to read John Piper's Don't Waste Your Life, and some other books by him, and Francis Chan's Forgotten God. I am reading the Bible like never before, and have been changed by many passages, such as: John 12:25-26: ""Whoever loves his life in this world will loose it, and whoever hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. If anyone serves me, he must follow me; and where I am, there will my servent be also. If anyone serves me, the father will honor him."" I am only a teenager, but realize that this applies to me also. I have started a ministry called Bibles4Orphans (Bibles4Orphans is an unincorporated non-profit organization), which raises money to give Bibles to orphans. My first mission was just accomplished, as I sent the first money I raised to Russia. I don't know where God will take me with this, but how could I know? After all, I may not know every detail, but God knows every single thought that crosses my mind, much less where this will end up.

I love this!!!! I do not have this song. But it sounds great. I think a song like this has the words that we need in today's culture, for sure.

I've never been one to appreciate the style of music Disciple does... a little too rocky, maybe... but after seeing them live, and checking out this song & others by them, WOW!!! Sounds totally great!!

I don't have this song yet either(I am waiting to see if I like the new album first, cause I might just get the whole thing if I do, yeah, never thought I'd be saying that about Disciple lol), but I've heard it quite a few times already. I must say, I am very impressed. I admit, I am a sucker for orchestration and rock fused together(hence why Skillet and some Red are frequent picks on my MP3 player), so when I heard the opening melody of this song(especially never considering an edgy band like Disciple one who'd try something like this), I was not only surprised, but very intrigued. The song definitely kept me hooked throughout the rest of the song, which Disciple has only been able to do for me a few times in the past. They are winning me over I think. Dear X is definitely a great song, and if this is a preview of what the new album will be like, color me intrigued.

I got the song and it was one amazing song! I really enjoyed the style of music for this song, a little different than their other stuff, but some of their best writing yet I think. As well as I just think it is a great message talking about throwing away all of the past pain and hurt in your life and how it no longer can control your life. I also had picked up the new album with the awesome pre-order package and already got the album download. And I think this is their best album yet, they have some amazing heavy songs, some great ones to rock too, and a lot of great songs to think over and enjoy the presence of God. So if you loved the single, I highly recommend either pre-ordering the album or picking it up when it comes out, because it is amazing!!!! As good as a song as Dear- X is, which it is amazing, the album has quite a few other great ones, and looks like it could defiantly be one of the best rock albums out this year!!
